Serving children from birth to three years of age, this is a family centered early intervention program. In accordance with Alabama’s Early Intervention System, eligible infants and toddlers are those who:
- Exhibit developmental delays of at least 25% in one of more of the five developmental areas: cognitive, communication, adaptive/self help, physical/motor, and social/emotional
- Have a diagnosed condition which has a high probability of resulting in a developmental delay.
All services are provided in the child’s natural environments, usually at home or a day care center.
Initial comprehensive evaluations and ongoing developmental assessments as well as speech, physical, and occupational therapies, special instruction, family training, and social/psychological services are provided to stimulate learning and to support and empower families. Music therapy is also available to ITP families
